Tremolo recommendations

So I fucked up a tremolo-build (Tremulus Lune) and will probably never get to figuring it out.

Now I need some OPINIONS on which tremolo pedal to go for.

I was thinking Stereo Pulsar, since it's cheap and very versatile. A friend says that the Nobels TR-X is nice, but then I will have to snipe eBay, and I would rather not.

I'm going to go for a small cheap and nasty one - as long as it doesn't volume drop. I'm looking for a "choppy" sound, nothing refined. So lookign at ones like the yellow JOYO/HarleyBenton and the Belcat TRM-507. Both cheaper than building one.

I would personally avoid all things Harley Benton like the plauge, but if its good, why not?

"Choppy" is the same thing I want. :) Squarewave-choppy <3

Dano Tuna Melt. Seriously.

I had a Stereo Pulsar a while back; loads of great sounds but the fact the depth control goes into weirdness can make it difficult to dial in 100% "on/off" chops. Here's mah demo, I tried to cover every sound possible:

Srsly? :D

Can it do what the Pulsar does?

(It would make my board look like a fucking playground, but there is always spraypaint...)

This Dwarfcraft pedal is going to be your best bet for analog non-linear squarewave truer bypass sonic perfection.

Tidy Demo Doog!! I need a cheapass Squarewave trem. although I quite like the demos of the old Catalinbread Valcoder.

Hem Hem.... Gig FX Chopper.. Hem Hem...

In all serious, it's a massively versatile trem.

Dunno if they can be found as cheap anymore, but I got a Rogue Tremolo on sale for $12 and it's a great pedal.

The Rogue seems to be the same as the Belcat TRM-507 - badge engineering of pedals.

A Dwarfcraft HAX will do "tremolo"
just it's incredibly noisy at it.

Flickinger Vicious Cricket, nice and transparent sounding with the depth knob off. Best one Ive seen in quite a long time.

Cheers maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

The Tuna Melt is very good, but not indestructable. Maybe pick up the beefier tremolo Danelectro do (used, obviously); I'd imagine it's the same circuit but with better components and TROO BIPAZZ:

I've got one of these - the "Cool Cat." It sounds great, but watch out for the switches, they're total crap. They're half pressed together, half screwed together, and there's little bits and springs that pop out when it breaks. I blew out the switch on mine and had to "mend" it back together...I think a hammer was involved...but anyways it works again, so whatever. Still can't complain too much for such a cheap pedal.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going for the Moses. Obviosluy, it's the best.

Update: Turns out I hadn't "engaged" the trim pot that was mounted on the PCB, but as soon as I turned it clockwise, the pedal magically started working.

Since I have no prior knowledge in electronics, I felt like Jesus when the LED suddenly started to flash like possessed in sync with some sweet trem chops.

Nice - tis a great feeling when a pedal fires up for the first time.

Indeed!

Hey, thanks for the super fast reply I got from you (you've of course already figured out it was me mailing you).
I've got a question for someone who's into all things pedals -- when I dialed in the internal trim pot, what did i do? Was that some sort of gain pot for the power or...?

If you link me to the schematic or PCB layout I'll let you know.
