I saw this amp on CL and wondered what people thought about them.

Just as long as you promise not to play bass through it.

$600 is not far off what I paid for my 1975 silverface Bassman 50 with a 2 x 15 cab in the UK. I would say the price is a bit high.

I have seen lots of comparisions with the Bassman 10, Bassman 50 and Bassman 100. What kind if volume does the Bassman 10 produce? Can you gig with it? I gigged with my Musicmaster Bass amp so I am assuming this would be loud enough. Not a lot of youtube demos of the Bassman 10.
I am trying to get how the Bassman 10 compares to the other higher wattage versions. I might try to trade for it if it is a good amp.

I have a bassman 10. I bought it for $450 I think. Great amp over all. HEavy as balls though.
As far as I know it's just a bassman 50 in a 4x10 enclosure, but I could be wrong.
It's volume is more than enough for gigging for guitar, it's weak for bass and if you insist on playing bass through it I'd advice running it out to another bass cabinet.

What ends said. I can add this- it will have the same downsides as any combo amp, the valves etc will endure more vibration over the years. Also they are heavy! 4x10 will be louder than a 2x12 and about the same as a 2x15 as far as surface area goes. any boasting about the bassman 50 can be applied to the bassman 10

Haze, how is the MMB amp treating you? Did you get to go all the way through it yet?
Thanks for all the info. Not sure I want to get a boat anchor heavy amp right now, but Bassmans intrigue me for sure. If the right deal came along I might be interested.

I bought the bassman 10 for $300. It's so damn rad. I modded mine to more blackface/super reverb specs. I'll probably throw some nicer speakers in it. They are some lightweight oxfords? in it right now?
Throw a boost and some reverb in front of it and DAMN. I play in a really loud band where I go into the bassman 10 and a fifty watter through 4x12s. Loud.

man, I hear about these deals on silverface fenders all the time but have never come across one myself. I'd kill to have an old silverface fender amp.

as said, it's basically a Bassman 50

As the Bassman 50 is such a sweet little head, I'd rather get one + a cabinet of choice of those if I had the choice.
