Kinda reminds me of the Fender Lead.I think Both have 3/4 size bodies and full scale necks.

They were "starter package" guitars back in the 80's in the UK, usually came with a particularly gnarly Squier amp.

Interesting.I have seen japanese Squier bullet like this, but the ones I saw have a telecaster headstock and a hardtail bridge. The one I have is an '87,the serial number is on the neck plate. the pickup cover knobs and back plate are aged. It has a really nice gloss finished neck.
I got to get the Squier book!

A friend of mine had one exactly like the one in your original post, when we were in school so must have been around 87~88
Strange strat, but not a strat look to them and only 2 controls.
I also vaguely remember the tele headstock ones which made things even more confusing when you were a young teenager.

Like the American strats they made in 1983.
The Bullet is a tiny little thing. They made another Bullet in the USA or Mexico,I think.

there was a USA model that had a tele headstock, and came in various configurations. some of them had a more tele shaped body (and were ugly as fuck).

WTR, I used to have a red one like yours. Decent guitar, so so pickups, perfect neck. I always felt like these guitars were a little unbalanced though, like they should be shortscale but they're not.

Ouch, I have a Deluxe (the one in the bottom of the photo) but in Red (like the one in the top of the photo). Plays like a dream. But I love shortscales.

i used to have a strat shaped one, i liked the sound of it (metal pickguard gave it a real edge) but the looks weren't for me.

I would love to have saddles like that for a normal strat bridge.

Those are cool guitars. I've wanted one for awhile.
How many guitars do you think you buy in a year?

I have never seen the Bullets with the Squier logo.
Years ago I had a Fender one and it was a cool ass guitar.
