I have a Mustang I and find myself more than happy just to noodle away on it for hours using the various amps and effects if I feel like it. I've got some lovely convincing Fender clean sounds dialed in with the Twin, Deluxe Reverb etc, and the Vox AC30 model is also pretty fab. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a fan of the Marshall attempts but the Fender SuperSonic Dirty Channel more than makes up for it - it's glorious if you want tasty Amp Overdrive.

kinda questioning the whole point of the mustang floor though.
it all works in a 99 dollar practice amp.
but why would you buy a pedal that puts 99 dollar practice amp sounds into your 800 dollar amp?

Gotta agree on all points here.
Also, when you hook it up to a computer, the Champ sounds are pretty awesome too.

Why would anyone buy giant multi-effect boards to put into their expensive amps? That's really all this is, with the added benefit of some amp modeling too.
That said, the little 8" speaker/enclosure on the Mustang I does really colour the sound you get from it. If I could run my Mustang I out to another cabinet, I'd be much happier with it.

Question about the Mustang I--is it worth it for the amp models alone? I don't care about the hi-gain stuff. I'm more interested in the Fender/Vox amp models.
I already have pedals + an M9 and have no need for additional effects. And I have a Pathfinder 15r I can't imagine selling it even if I get a Mustang I. Getting to mess around with amp models is something I've wanted to do for a while and Fuse looks like it opens up a ton of possibilities for that.

The main selling points of the Floor is the fact it'll do very convincing amp AND speaker simulation through an line output (or USB), so you can plug straight to the mixing desk, computer or PA for very decent guitar sounds. That, plus you can control everything from the floor, which you can't do with the amps without the footswitch.. and even that doesn't give anywhere near the options this does.
While the 99 dollar amp may have the same modelling software, it's is limited by its speaker and cabinet size; I'd imagine the power amp in the Mustang amps is extremely clean and neutral to let the amp modelling shine through.

It's pretty decent, really... I mean, the Twin emulation doesn't sound like my actual Twin, but, ya know, tiny little 8" speaker/enclosure, you can't expect it to. The sounds, while not spot on are almost all close enough. It's a pretty flexible little amp.
Really, I think the Mustang I is incredible value.

Thanks for that. I guess my only other question would be if it takes pedals well like my Pathfinder does?

Couldn't tell ya. My pedals tend to stay in my jam space, so I haven't really tried using them with it... Add in that the amp gives you plenty of sound shaping options, especially if you have FUSE running, I haven't felt the need to use pedals.
Mike likely has more experience in this area.

Thanks for the vids. I actually watched the second and third demos last night and thought they were pretty good. But, it's also good to know that pedals won't drive the amp too hard, which was something I saw in the comments of a Mustang I demo.

I don't use pedals with it to be honest, I don't really think that's what it's for. But it's not bad - but I would say it takes some tweaking to get the most out of it. It's got a small speaker so if you take a full sounding Twin model and throw a pedal in front it's not going to handle the bass notes all that well.
I generally play guitar straight in and if I want dirt I use a pedal in the amp (via laptop) or change amp model to the supersonic or whatever.
If I want to use pedals I stick them into a proper amp, or my Harley Benton American Sound (Tech21 Blonde clone) which takes pedals AMAZINGly.

Sounds good. This is the first time i've heard a multi effect where the wah doesn't sound like an afterthought. I wonder If the amp/speaker sims are defeat-able for running straight into an amp? I like that it doesn't look toyish either. Would be cool if it had a looper, but I guess that would be too good to be true at this price point.
