Anyone ever tried one? Seen a lot of people of with massive boners for them on various other boards, mainly the El Capistan. Just curious whether anyone had ever tried one. Watched a few videos and the do look/sound superb. Fecking expensive though...don't think I'd drop £250 on a pedal.
A lot of guys on the HCFX seem to have owned them at one time or still do. I don't know why, but whenever I see that name (Strymon) pop up, I associate it with P&W guys with massive pedalboards.
They sound great in demos, but are very expensive. They're all built on DSP technology with very clever modelling and programming.
Somewhat amusingly they are also based largely on the tech in these Damage Control pedals, which all the HCFX Strymon fanbois would have dissed heavily back in the day:
i can't see anyone near here having them in to try and at that price i can't afford to take a punt on one. like you said a lot of people are loving them but is that just because they are flavour of the month?

Yeah likewise, don't know of anywhere close that has them to try out. Could well be flavour of the month, but have to say they do sound bloody good. Watched the chorus/vibrato one earlier and it has some very clever features.
Funny that they are based on the damage control pedals - can see exactly why the gear snobs like one and not the other.
Haha that would be nice
Unfortunately I don't think i'd get away with it! Not taking any guitars with us which is quite worrying...will have to buy something out there!
(still no notice that they have a thunder 30 back in, by the way)
I've heard great things about the El Capistan, but all that 'secondary features' put me off. I'm more about 'turn a few dials and go'. I'd just get confuse otherwise...
