I've been writing and recording a lot of stuff lately. I can't sing or write lyrics. Anyone interested and have the ability to record over stuff i write and do some sort of colab or something? I'm getting bored writing and love seeing someone take a song i write and put lyrics and meledy over it. The music is pretty chill and laid back indie type stuff.

It'd almost be a shame to put lyrics over that... it's great as is.

i appreciate it fo sho. I find when im writing since i cant sing or know anyone who can i tend to fill in the parts with different stuff. it'd be awesome to hear someone lay something down that didnt take away from something that was written to be instrumental. then again, it'd make song writing way easier if i knew someone would fill in the boring bits with something haha

I thought about it. Then listened to it. Then decided I'd just ruin it.

i'm hoping to use it as a jump off point to figure out how to write lyrics. something i've always wanted to do is take someone else's songs, and hear what the music makes me think of melodically, then apply the rhythm of the melody and almost let it tell me what the words are.

shit, that makes no sense.

Actually it kinda did. I do the same thing when writing. Im not a drummer. I get ideas for a song in my head then i set about laying out a midi drum track. Once i get the drum track semi built the drum parts usually make the riffs change and i come up with tons of other ideas when listening to the tracks i created. I really wish i had a midi controller or synth or something to create cool background textures and shit.

Also when i write i tend to think of an idea around a song then write it as if it were a soundtrack to a montage or something. Like "shower beer(s)". Straight up starts with me getting off work, running to the fridge, heading upstairs and starting the shower and hopping in, the little tapping chorus part is the cracking of the beer and the fucking awesomeness that is drinking a cold beer in a hot shower after.. then i run out of beer and im bummed in the middle before i go snag another beer and finish it with cracking another and being super stoked.

i can email you a copy of it if you want. pm your addy then just do something over it. then you can send me the vocal track and i can mix it in and remaster it all together.
