..why not modify my CIJ Jag? Switch cover cut from a blank wall switch cover. Not too shabby.

Nice! Although doesn't the Marr signature have 2 switches on the upper horn and no roller pots?

Cheers, guys. It's just the '4-way switch' part of JM's Jag that I have happening here. Although, I wish somebody would come out with the correct wiring already.

The whole thing is classy as hell. Very nice job. I tend to find MIJ CAR Jags to be the most vanilla of the lot, but you've really shaped that into something nice with only a few cosmetic changes. I'm impressed.

Cheers, mate. Yes, they were painted white. I kind of messed the white paint during the 'baking' period so I wet sanded them down to brass. The white paint between the grooves worked out pretty well.

Amazon.com. This is what I ordered:



I applied masking tape over the blank and traced the shape and screw holes of the old Jag plate. I also used a telecaster plate to trace the holes for the switch. A hand drill for the holes and countersink, and Dremel to cut the slit for the lever switch.
Then I used a hacksaw to make a rough cut of the hexagonal Jag plate.
Then flat file for the rest of the job. Use a couple of small nut and bolt to secure the original plate and the rough cut plate together so that you could file down the exact dimension of the custom plate. Lay the flat file on a flat surface and just run the plate one edge at a time until you have the exact dimension. This is the most time consuming of all the steps.

The plate isn't too thick so edges kind of rippled. It's OK as long as you're not too nit-picky. Or, you may have better tools and could do a more thorough job.

Far more brilliant than your mere 75 posts could account for. Often I find my self walking every aisle of Home Depot or Lowes for some off label use of a product.

Finally finished my poor man's Marr Jaguar yesterday. Couple of issues with the wiring that I'm trying to work out. The 4th position and the horizontal slider switch won't engage for some reason.

Sorry, I missed your question. I got the white slider switches from guitarpartsresource. The roller knobs where stripped and painted white.
I think the knob's fit will depend on the diameter of the potentiometer shaft that you have. The shafts on the CTS small pots were slightly bigger than the other pots that I've had. I had to use knobs for solid shafts on those.
I couldn't remember where I got those knobs from.
