DigiTech Hyper Phase volume drop

I picked up a DigiTech Hyper Phase off of ebay for $25. Score. I really like the step phase setting it sounds really cool with the tone knob turned down with a long repeating delay and lots of verb. Kinda a watery-digital underwater ambient effect. The fucking volume i notice drops significantly though when the pedla is engaged. I know that the Line6 DL6 has issues with that and there is a mod that fixes it... Anyone heard anything or know a way to fix this with the hyper phase?

yeah this wasn't really a long term solution. the best feature was the fact it was $25. i like the step phaser on it though.
