How much is a modified '75 Strat worth?

I saw a modified '75 Fender Strat(made in the USA) at my friends store today. It it has a natural finish which looks nice on the front but the original owner sighned his name on the back. The guitar was original a hardtail but the owner had a Kahler trem and locking nut installed. It has a black pickguard which may be new, new vintage modern pickups and new pots(I think). Comes in the original hardshell case. I think they have it priced at $899.Is it worth that much?

So it looks like this with a Kahler installed and somebody's name written in green ink on the back

Depends on how they did the Kahler and if you like them. The neck and body alone could be worth close to that. Obviously all original would make it a three star deal.

I just fixed a standard with Kahler hole. It was not the worst I have seen, but I had to rout it clean. It takes dumb drug fueled guts to shove a shit hunk of steel like that into pretty wood. I bet you could get the guy's name off the back. Poor man's tracking device.

A good way of reckoning would be to buy it, flip it in a few months, then examine the difference in prices.
