The guitar in question is used by David Longstreth from Dirty Projectors.
Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

It's an Old Kraftsman, made by Kay in the '50s.

This shop is selling one for $999.99... wow

Scroll to "Miscellany"...

Wow... a grand for a cheap guitar that may have sold for less than $100 new... crazy. Sadly, they don't play any better now than they did then.

Yeah, looks like the Kay 136 model,Kay's version Of the Harmony Stratotone H-44. I don't know which came out first. Michael Wright talks about it in "Guitar Stories".

Here are is the 2 pickup version(142) I think these guitars were made In the mid 50's. I think Old Kraftsman was the name used for the Spiegal Catalog.

I love the V paint design. It's a million times better than the sunburst. It's a shame so few of these old guitars were made in that style.
