Though it's not a new thing to say, when you consider that his job isn't simply to demo something but to sell you it by showing you only it's good points, Andy is incredibly good at his job. He has a universal appeal to guitar players and excellent song selection.

I think that one of the things that keeps him pretty much universally accepted is that he doesn't resort to the blues noodle. It also separates him from 90%+ of the guitarists larger companies higher for this sort of purpose.

Every video of his I watch I can see guys who were sat on the fence at the beginning reaching for their wallets by the end.

Agreed, EXCEPT (and I think it's quite a big except) he doesn't play with a plectrum, so his 'sound' is quite removed from that of regular joe punter.

i must confess to never having played a baritone guitar.

For example, I noted in the Thinline Jaguar video that he plays pretty much everything with the tone rolled back; not really playing the Jag's jangle, but making it more widely appealing to more players.

That said, this Blacktop Baritone seems to sound as good as I'd hoped, seeing the releases about it in the past couple months. I'd love to get one; and being in the Blacktop series means it's nicely affordable.

Andy can make anything sound good.
I always enjoy PGS's demos. He's a solid player and like James said, he doesn't rely on blues licks. It's refreshing and a joy to listen to, even if I don't like the gear he's demonstrating.

Funny, it didn't sound that good when I played it.

I've always disliked the way he plays - he lacks phrasing, so even when he's playing something I know, it's hard to actually work our what it is. He can play all the pieces, but he can't put them together to make a whole.

My bandmate bought one of these necks for a bari esquire build - a little bit of work and it plays pretty nicely.
