Very cool, I must admit I nearly bought this amp myself when I saw it for sale.
Whats the clean headroom like on it?

not had chance to pump the master volume yet but with either channel volume on 10 and the master low there isn't much break up even with humbucklers. well then again I'm a fuzz lover so my clean is another man's crunch

That's interesting (just added a bunch of bassmans to my ebay watch list haha).
Look forward to hearing how it responds in rehearsal.

the silverfaces apparently are different than the older ones everyone creams themselves over from what i can ascertain, I think there maybe a tube less in the preamp stage. The mastervolume on the 10's probably makes a difference but if you can get a 135 or one of the later 50's (which were 70 watts) this might help you. Also, see about a bandmaster or showman, alot of the bigger watt silverfaces are stagnating in price due to their weight.

Do you know what year it is? I read that between 72-76 they were 50w and 77-82 they became 75w when they switched to an ultra linear output transformer.
Either way, good score, bet it sounds great. Are you still planning on re-tolexing it?

It's 50w so between 72-76. Retolexing is definitely on the cards, I plan getting a screw driver out soon and seeing what's what with the rehousing and simple it'll be to do. Will definitely be replacing the metal speaker grill with something prettier

Looks great! I have one of the 135 watt Ultralinear Twin Reverbs and it is very heavy, but it sounds awesome!

Nice score. The insides of an amp are mostly a mystery to me but as far as I can gather, because it's a 50 and not an ultralinear you can quite easily mod one of the channels for a nice JTM45 style breakup. What's the low end like out of those 10s?
