What is the general consensus on the Squier Musicmaster? Is it worth $200? How do the necks feel on them?

I know they are some of the less desirable of the Squier Vista Series.

they're less desirable because they're made in china, and not really up to the VISTA snuff. i know the humbuckers suck from the factory, and the necks were cheap feeling, like the MIK toronado's. i've only played one, and maybe it was a shit one.

Initially I wasnt a fan of mine but now I love mine. I think it just takes some getting used too. Perhaps learning to love it. It's not as nice as the Super-Sonic but it's a beast of it's own. The neck isn't as nice as the Super-Sonic neck. I think the humbucker is just fine though. I, personally, would have no problem paying $200 on it. It's a nice guitar that is unique.

I own one and the neck in particular is very nice. The frets needed some filing, but after that the satin finish and the round C shape are very comfortable. (but i'd rather have a satin then a gloss neck... many others feel the opposite and satin necks can feel "cheap" at first to those who are used to thick gloss finishes)

The humbucker isn't a high output powerhouse, but it gets the job done (and can be replaced if you want.)

I actually think it's one of the more comfortable necks i've ever played, and is hands down the most comfortable neck out of all the guitars I own.

It doesn't sound as good as my Strat or Tele, but It's worth $200 all day long.

I played one and should have shelled out the $200 for it. I'm seriously considering calling the store to see if they would ship it.

Yeah, I agree. I had one and didn't really like it, I also had a Venus and thought that was worse. The Venus was mega light and felt like a toy.
