Anyone tried the Ampwedge?
Ampwedge
I saw the Standback but that isn't supposed to be used permanently and doesn't work on every type of amp:

Ampwedge looks dicey and unsupported. A push to the top and timbeeeeer! A tall top heavy amp like a Fender Super Reverb or something - forget about it.

Apparently the tears allow you to put the amp as different angles, so it doesn't have to be tilted too far, helping it stay stable.
I'm not sure how well it'd work, but if I can get one inexpensively it might we worth a try.

What about using the Yellow Pages? Rip out the pages til it's the perfect height.

Get some Fender tilt back legs. I fitted some to my HRD when I had it and they worked a treat.

i just used a bit of wood when i needed to tilt my amp, probably about an inch square in section. cost me fuck-all.
i have a proper amp stand for recording though, but that's different.

I've been wanting to do that to my HRD for a while now, do you have any pics? Did you use the 14" or 16" legs?

Such a rip off price really but somehow I still want to buy one.
I wont, because I'd just use a book like mentioned before. I want to invent an equivalent product, because I reckon they're raking it in for a bit of 'thing' which has a somewhat of a purpose, & eventually probably costs next to nothing to produce.

This is exactly my view, factor in how much it costs for delivery too and it's just too much for what is effectively just a wedge of foam. It is a good idea though.

Dummmmmmmmm-BUH.
In terms of live usage, lay it flat on a chair, small table or beercrates. Angling amps from the floor just directs your "volume beam" at the ceiling, making all that lovely directed volume go to waste when standing in the majority of positions in a room.
People do this, or just leave their amps on the floor, meaning they need to crank them to be heard themselves properly. Instant onstage wooly mess-athon.

I stand my 1 x 12 combo on top of one of our singer's PA rig flight cases, which is about its height, or grab a chair.

No photos i'm afraid. I think it was the 14" legs, I think Fender do 3 sizes and I had the middle size. They're not designed for these amps but they were easy to fit, I fitted the legs to the existing cassis screw/bolt, I just had to screw the stopper screw into the cab - which was easily done.

I used to have one of these Warwick Amp Stands when I used a combo amp live. Solid as a rock, light and easy to transport and use (angled or straight) and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Seems to be unavailable though
here's a similar but more expensive one:

Well I was looking for the smallest possible alternatives as I already have this giraffe stand (which is bulletproof):

Just use that unless you're desperate to spend money.
