WTB an All-in-one analogue delay/phase...recommendations?

Post by JohnnyTheBoy »

Simply that...looking to get a combined pedal to replace two pedals on the old pedalboard..
Currently using a EHX nanoclone and a maplins special cheapo-phaser...
Anyone know of a combo pedal that will run off my johnny shredfreak supply???...
Cheers

I don't know of any mass-market device that would fit your needs. You could, however, decide on two separate pedals that provide the effects you love and rehouse them in a single larger Hammond chassis with a switch to change the order or something. If that's not your thing, you could perhaps persuade Mike, Tim, or one of the other builder gents here with a wink, a smooch, and some bucks.

What's the Maplins phaser? Is it meant to be like the Phase 90? Phasers like the Phase 90 don't use time delay; they introduce frequency-dependent phase variation using multiple single-stage filters.

It's a "Ken Multi" MPH-7 Phaser which Maplins used to sell..not sure what It's based on tbh...
Well my nano clone's a chorus, but I'm thinking I need a delay pedal to get the sounds I'm after...

Old posts by analogguru on diystomboxes/freestompboxes suggest its a 4-stage FET-based phaser along the Artec/Daphon lines, so you're not going to get quite the same effect using anything with a delay chip, i.e. a chorus or delay pedal.

I was looking into Ehx The Worm, but its 24v not 12v, as that has phase, trem, vibrato etc, but I don't want the separate power supply..
Maybe re-housing two pedals like avj suggested might be the key...

The other issue is the Worm does not have delay. I love the Worm XO, but the 24v means it won't power off a brick unless you have two 12v ports. I plug it in separately.

The phaser on the worm I had wasn't as good as my small stone. If you want good phasing and good delay from a single pedal you need a phaser, a delay and some gaffer tape.

Or play from a spinning roundabout in a cave?

Aaaaahhh thanks for that info..if you haven't tried them out you'd never know...have considered the memory boy, or memory toy as well, but I have seen a few vids about them, and some can be hit.n miss....guess you're right about taping 2 together...in a cave indeed lulz.....
