You can only order one item at a time, however. Pretty good deal if this is your gauge and brand.

It's funny; over the last few weeks I've had a hell of a time finding any UK retailer that had Boomers in stock; at least not in the .10 gauge that I use. That goes for the likes of Amazon and Stringsdirect...most odd. I'm not sure if I was just unlucky and they're now available again, but I started to wonder if there were manufacturing/distribution issues.
I do like Boomers though...nice and cheap.

Boomers, IMO, are better balanced and more flexible than D'Addarios of the same gauge. The numbers don't lie.Nick wrote:In for one...I'm trying to move more towards heavier strings than 10's but I'll probably keep a guitar with them just to use these up. Not really given Boomers a fair shake, for $1 a set I can't afford not to.
Boomers XL
E - 0.010 - 14.5 lb
B - 0.013 - 14.0 lb
G - 0.017 - 15.0 lb
D - 0.026 - 17.0 lb
A - 0.036 - 17.0 lb
E - 0.046 - 16.0 lb
D'Addario EXL110
E - 0.010 - 16.2 lb
B - 0.013 - 15.4 lb
G - 0.017 - 16.6 lb
D - 0.026 - 18.4 lb
A - 0.036 - 19.5 lb
E - 0.046 - 17.5 lb
You'd think this stuff doesn't matter but I think a balanced set is the key to maximizing your performance with a whammy system (certainly nothing to do with angling a Strat claw). D'Addario has a more balanced set (EXL111) which I find to be better, but regardless, I just find Boomers to be flexible, which means you can use heavier strings while not losing any playability.
That said, D'Addario is a tad bit brighter upon first install, but that balances out quick.
Kicking and squealing Gucci little piggy.
