Would contact cleaner in sort out the crackles when I use my wah?

It's just dust in the pot I assume. I'd try 'air duster' and then contact cleaner.... but I'd wait for others to chime in first just in case.

Same as what Owen said, they are prone to it. In rare cases you will have to change the pot.

Yeah, this has happened a couple times on my Vox, which was my first pedal ever and has been continually used for ages and ages. I used contact cleaner a couple of times and then one day it wasn't fixing it so I changed the pot... actually found a used wah for cheaper than the same shop's Hot Pot so I just bought that and did a brainswap.
For awhile after I first got my pedalboard together I had the wah's rubber feet between the casing and the base so I could velcro it to my board and also run a 9V clip --> AC adapter between the gap, so I imagine it got more dust than the average. They get dust in through the top too, the hole for the gear is just a big window inside to the pot.
