New Homemade Board

Post by jumbledupthinking »

We got a new bookshelf at the weekend....old one was one of those crappy pine Argos jobbies (still remember the swearathon that ensued building it many moons ago). As I was disassembling it, it occured to me that I could use some of the wood to make a small board for home use (I have one of those Kinsman cases for when I play live, but I use fewer pedals at home generally & I also find that dust & detritus collects in the corners, which annoys me) </o.c.d. neat-freak rant>

After a bit of measuring, some sawing, to make it the size I wanted & to create angled sides, this was the result:

Pretty pleased with how it turned out. Might paint or stain the wood, but other than that I'm happy with it. For anyone who cares about my pedal chain, it's Polytune > OCD Clone > Fredric Effects Klon Clone > Belcat Tremolo > EHX Holy Grail Plus > amp.

Thanks guys :D Yeah...the PT Mini in particular was definitely the inspiration going forward with this one. Just didn't want to spend all that cash on something that I was only going to be using at home, so utilised my (extremely meagre) carpentry skills & manned up!

Now need to decide whether I paint this bad boy (I have some paint that's a kind of daphne blue type shade that I've done a few bits of old furniture in the flat in) or whether I go with some wood stain. Once I'm finished with this, I'm going to make some wooden side-panels for my synth, so will definitely need some wood stain for those.
