Looks similar to mine that I just picked up except for the stop tail and the all aluminum pickups. Your guitar looks in more pristine condition than mine.

What year is yours? What did you give for her?

Whats the deal with the bridge and intonation? move it around till its close?

Also grounding seems weird. I can touch the pickup and its silent but it seems the strings aren't grounded. Loose wire?

Undecided on if I like how they look but it beats spending 60 dollars on knobs, I'd say.

I played a band practice with it today, thoughts:

Feedback. FEEDBACK! Holy shit! even with a clean boost pedal, FEEDBACK! I had to turn my Bassman to double where I normally have it to compete in the mix -- these pickups are really low output, I would think. I usually can have it on 4 or 5 with a Mustang (which is pretty low output), I had it on 7 or 8. Also, lots of low end which is nice in that it can drive the amp in a way I'm not accustomed to. The 'strummability' of this guitar ranks very highly. It is begging to be abused. The neck is phenomal, it is the best feeling and playing guitar I have ever owned, or played for that matter. It sounds incredible by itself, I'm just trying to figure out how I'm working it into my bands. I'm playing 3 shows this weekend, so I guess I'll have to figure it out...

I do think there is a grounding wire loose as the strings are not grounded, nor is the bridge. No way am I going to work on this puppy myself, however.

I gave $800 for mine and it came with a case covered in duct tape My Coronado II was Jan 1967 neck stamp. I guessed yours was earlier since the pickups are the all shiny ones. They were on the first runs.

This was my first hollowbody as well and you have to move the bridge until you get the right intonation.

Here is a pic of my bridge and you can see other people moved it all around, but I pretty much got a fairly even action with a thick business card shim and spot on intonation. Your bridge is a little different than mine because your guitar has the stop tail and mine has the "reverb" handle.



I agree on the good strums and the necks are just ace on these guitars. I play to make my Jazzmaster guitar have the same profile as this one.

I love the feedback with a Big Muff. You can get the Black Keys-ThickFreakness going on.

Wow I;m stupid. THat's how it came so I put it back that way after restringing. Thanks!. I'm going to run a wire from the bridge pickup screw to the bridge for my show tonight to get rid of grounding issues for the time being.

I knew something was off but I just could not place it. That will definitely affect the intonation if you can't move the bridge close enough to the bridge pickup.

I used a tape measure to measure the distance from the nut to the bridge and then adjust the intonation from there by moving the bridge forward and backward slightly.

Damn that's a gorgeous guitar!
