Hey,

I know that their are quite a few people who favor vintage import guitars like Kay's, Kingstons, Teiscos, etc... so I thought I'd share a link to a teardown and rebuild of the pickups I did for my recently sold Kay SG bass.

*The blog ends with me trying to sell folks on having their pickups rewound/rebuilt by me. I'm not trying to shamelessly promote in this section, but I thought I'd share the gut shots with you guys.

That's neat. I have a couple of old Hoefner pickups that are supposed to look like mini-humbuckers, and I think in some cases they were fitted with two coils but these are single-coil. Maybe I should have a go....

I've torn open a lot of pickups that were designed to look like Mini-hums but were actually single coils with small coils and a ton of a cheap magnets stuffed inside the cover. Some are designed similar to mudbuckers.
