I got a DiMarzio BC-1 single coil sized himbucker today. First off i screwed up and ordered a neck when i really wanted to get a bridge pickup for my project. Oh well no big deal i was just gonna stick it in the bridge and if i didn't like it, move it to the neck and get a bridge version. I missed one whole part of the equation though because in my duo/mustang body the pickup cavity routing would mean id have to put it in upside down as well. The BC-1 is basically an Air Norton S with the freq response modified in one of the coils so its not balanced between both coils. Is flipping it around to fit in the cavity going to make that much of a difference you think? I know its what sounds good to me, but if theres a reason that it will blatently suck (like phase problems or anything) i wont mess with it. It'd be nice if anyone has actually tried it and hear their thoughts.

Not quite the same situation but my righty guitar is flipped and played upside down. I've got a SD little 59' in the bridge, but because of how the guitar is, it's wired as if it was to be played normally (right handed). So in terms of the pickup its upside down aswell, but my Low E is where the P/U would normally pick up the high e. It sounds completely fine to me. Unless you have staggered pole pieces I wouldn't have thought it would cause a problem. It hasn't for me.

Yeah I'd say this too. Certainly shouldn't be a problem with a rail.

yeah no pole pieces. its a double blade style humbucker that fits in a single coil slot
