* and I know it's poor form to hate on someone who's so prolific in terms of demos, but that bloke is the ultimate corksniffer (he's written some vile stuff about MIJ guitars) and seems to take no pleasure from playing whatsoever.

Loev Peter Stroud. I remember when those were about the only pedal demos on the internet. Especially love his Lynchian backwards-talking-reversed-to-be-forwards accent.

There is something creepy about those demos. I guess that guy is technically good, but I too find his mirthless playing unsettling--sinister even.

He plays frustratingly soft and quiet hushed noodling barely touching the strings, digs in loudly once or twice during the whole demo and people think HE HAS AMAZING EXPRESSION AND TONE. It makes me grind my teeth and want to vomit after a while. PLAY THE FUCKING THING!
This is where someone like PG Andy excels by actually playing at a range of volumes using cleans, drives and riffs people recognise.
