I may have mentioned elsewhere on the forum that I am finally getting married next year to my long term partner. We've been looking for a photographer amongst other things and I'm getting a bit disheartened about the photo side of things.
Below a grand you get anything ranging from crap to nearly acceptable. Spend over £1000 and you are in what I would consider acceptable documentation of your special day.
We know we can't afford the £1000 or more photographers and I don't want to go cheap and then spend the next month re touching photos to get them how I want them to look. I feel that is the job of the photographer these days.
So I'm asking is there any shortscaler that fancies a wedding job come August 2013 or can anyone suggest photographers to check out that may be of interest?

My housemate has her own wedding photography small business... she's very good too.
She does all the editing and prints etc included in the price, so should be worth a look...

We used this guy http://www.terrylee.net/
He's based near Reading I suppose, so don't know how practical. But he did a great job for us. We didn't want an album creating as my wife wanted to get the prints herself and make the album, so we basically got the DVD from him with the copyright for ourselves. My wife printed them off through Boots online (which was mega cheap) and made a really lovely book.
