In a good way? I'm pretty sure the dots/pickups glow in the dark...which was a big 90's rage if anyone remembers.

I dig.
Aesthetically, I can't hardly play a beast like that. Go hard if u can.

I had an RG7321 which was KINDA like a Universe, but with a hard tail string thru... I always wanted to swap the pups and knobs to look like that. I love the funky ugliness of it.

I think shredder guitars are largely ugly but somehow, ridiculous color schemes make it fun for me, and then I like the look again. Green pickups definitely bring it into the fun factory for me.

You cant have glow in the dark pups and knobs and NOT make it a seven string.

I've found that nice bursts on bound flame maple can be very nice looking pieces that have a subtle touch of class, even on pointy things with Floyds. My LP7's tangerine burst has really grown on me based on that point alone.
The above haunted-house party favor combo is in another category altogether.

90s ugly is my favorite kind of ugly. The neon green totally works.

I really like both those guitars, but I'm not sure how modern the second one is. It still looks kind of dated to me. In fact, I'm struggling to think of a modern equivalent to the first guitar. The closest I can think of would be the Korn ones with the metallic slate sort of finish from a few years back.

You're right, i get a very distinct early 2000's retro revival feel from it.
Here's a modern and boring example

Oh, the Universe is gorgeous. Still would prefer a PWH. Should ALWAYS have pyramids wherever possible
But yeah, 90s Ibanez shred guitars are gorgeous.

Always prefered how Jackson Charvel look to Ibanez, with Superstrats anyway. The horns look too spikey for me on RG, Jem and Universe models and i'm not keen on the headstock.
