NPD Ibanez Soundtank Phaser

Just got this Ibanez Soundtank Phaser Pedal, and I honestly love it. It sounds AMAZING with my EHX Big Muff with Tone Wicker, set up for QOTSA type fuzz. But really it sounds awesome. I do prefer it with my fuzz pedal than as to the sound of it with my clean signal. It has 3 knobs, Speed, Depth, and Feedback. I so far have found a really good sound out of cranking the depth and feed back with the speed at 3 o clock.

The Body is made of metal and the switch cover is plastic. With the input, output, and power supply jacks at the top of the pedal.

This pedal only cost me $10 at a music store I went to with my Bassist today, who bought a DOD phaser also, so its like phaser mania there, both for $10, but I personally prefer mine to his. I think I got a really good deal for this thing, cus I really love this phasers tone, and its going for more than 3x that on ebay right now. I'd suggest buying one, I think there still for sale on like ebay for cheap, like $25-$40.

This is what they look like cus im to lazy to go down to my basement and take a photo and its kinda late at night over here. I would like to paint part of it like orange or blue, just so it stands out when im playing live and to give it a different vibe.

I've got an Ibanez Soundtank Tremolo and it's fantastic. Sine wave, external level knob, perfect. Adds a little brightness to the signal (no bad thing) and the switch is a bit sticky so could do with a rehouse though.

I've lent my son Matt my Soundtank echo; I got it from someone who had 3 - really Matt should get a DL4 (George - lol).

My first pedal was a Soundtank Slam Punk, I can't remember what it was like - I do remember that it broke though.

The soundtank range are great sounding pedals, but the switches ALWAYS break. If you want an eye opener, there's a video on yowtowb where a guy compares a soundtank tubescreamer with one of the mega expensive M@J@ vintage ones, and there's no discernible difference.

About a month ago I got a Soundtank Sixties Fuzz. From what I've read it's supposed to be quite a nice Big Muff copy.

I've always liked Ibanez effects, not sure why they are not more popular.

I know. They do this pedal called a Tube Screamer. Apparently it's amazing but not many people use them.

anyone ever tried anything from this range?

i think they were 80s jobs. i've got that compressor and it's pretty damn good. i've been running my 'bass' channel through it, sondz kool after the OC-3.

Whilst I haven't tried any of them I know that they're the same circuit as the Nine series pedals.

I'd love to track down one of the old Super Metal pedals. But they're quite expensive and very rare.

The nine series is as good if not better than anything Boss have made. It baffles me how only the TS model gets recognition.

CS9 and TS9, fair enough John is using a Microverb and more importantly a Gretsch but this is quality tonez..

When my switch breaks should i just take it to my tech with a new switch and get it switched out or will that be the end of that pedal?

If the pedal is important to you its worth getting it fixed.

The switch debounce circuit was changed to make switch operation more reliable.

I've had two Dual Choruses in the past, they're great and the range is great in general. They were made by Maxon.

I have a CM-5 Soundtank (Classic Metal) Instant Sabbath in a box it is

Switch is broken on mine so it's now "momentary" instead of latching. May re house it one day as I've had it for years.

I recently got the Dual Chorus (CCL) and i love it. Chorus and Flanger in one box covers all my modulation needs (i have a feeling they're based off the CS-9 and FL-9 too?).

Just got a Super Metal (SML) today, it sounds great... a little to similar to my drivemaster with nowhere near as much volume on tap though so i'm a little on the wall about it (i've read removing two sets of diodes D5+6 opens up the headroom without sacrificing much gain... might give it a go).

...and finally i have a TS-10 too which sounds exactly how you expect tube screamer to sound, without the price-tag of a TS-808/9. Not entirely sure i prefer it to my OD-2 though.

The Master and Ten series should get far more recognition than they do. Half of them are just rehoused Nine series pedals in more convenient cases anyway.

I might try out some of the Sountank series now.
