I've known for a while that I would be having this guitar, but I paid it in installments and finally paid the last one today! Seems silly considering it was only £129 (bargain I think!) but it made more sense considering I didn't get my first payday until today, so was still living off my student loan. I wouldn't have rushed into putting down the first installment if this hadn't been the last one they had on special offer - these usually sell for £179-199 from what I can gather. There's a tiny rough patch on the neck, but it's probably less than half a centimetre squared, so it doesn't bother me. This guitar is perfect for me; slightly reduced size, satin finish (I can't stand glossy acoustics) and a relatively cheap price tag. I haven't played it plugged in yet, but unplugged the sound is... well, like an acoustic guitar. I'm hardly a connoisseur, but it sounds nice enough to my ears. I knew I wanted a Tanglewood from the word go, because I've loved every Tanglewood acoustic I've ever played, and this is no exception. I never thought I'd spend a significant amount of money on an acoustic - previous ventures into the area have either been sub-£20 or in one case a freebie from a neighbour who was moving to Australia and wasn't taking it with him - but I'm definitely glad I have done. Very pleased!

This seems like a ridiculously amateurish question, but having never owned a half-decent acoustic before I've never actually thought about where the guitar-strap should go. Right now I've got one end attached to a shoelace which is tied just above the nut, which seems like the only sensible way of doing things. This isn't going to do any harm to the structural integrity of the guitar, is it?

I'm surprised that such a small guitar didn't have a strap peg drilled into it. My Little Martin has a peg on the opposite side of the neck joint, works out pretty well. I use the shoelace configuration for my full sized Washburn though without any issues.



Are you considering a piezo pickup or anything for the Roadster? I've been playing around with the idea myself, but I'm too scared to drill into the Martin.

It has a pickup (and a tuner actually, which is rather cool) already built in, so I think all my needs are covered. I don't have a brilliant track record in terms of modding guitars so I'd rather just leave it.
