Replacing amp pots, easy job?

I just picked up a Peavey transtube practice amp for £20, but it has a slight problem in that the volume pot is basically like an on/off switch at the moment. Would replacing this be as simple as doing it on a guitar? If so I might do all the pots at once, the ones that are in there now are really shit and have plastic shafts.

Cheers!

Depending on the amp, yes or no. If they're built into the PCB you're fucked. But I doubt they are. The only tricky bit will probably be getting the right value pots.

I'm building a Champ right now and its really quite simple. In some ways easier than replacing pots on a guitar. Again, depends on how the amp is set up.

Hoffmanamps (google it), is the fastest shipping and best selection of amp parts. Not sure about UK

Thanks for the info. I haven't taken the guts out of it to see what it's like inside yet, but it's no big deal either way. It still works and cost next to nothing.
