So the Orange Micro Terror just came out, and obviously there's the accompanying cab. I'm a little guy, and occasionally when I'm at uni I have to carry ALL my gear to a gig at once. When I've got a guitar on my back, pedal board in one hand and amp head over my shoulder, a 1x12 cab gets a little too much for someone of my stature. From all the information on this thing it looks like I could run my Tiny Terror through it (20 watts, 8 ohms). It might look a little bit silly having a head wider than my cab, but that doesn't really bother me.

Is there any reason for me not to buy this cab and run my Tiny Terror through it?

But probably none if it matches up and everything. I have a Kustom 8" combo and it's fine. Really useful for small practices, in fact. Or just noodling around.

Yeah definitely for practices, and I'm thinking even for gigs. I figure at most gigs my amp gets mic'd up anyway, and at the ones where it doesn't you usually can't hear what the fuck's going on anyway, regardless of how big a speaker I'm playing through.

Will it actually even make a huge volume difference?

TT is 16ohms, the Orange 1x8 cab is 8ohms.... it will not work without frying your output tranny.... plus its 8" speaker will sound shit compared to a real cab

A Roland Cube might be a better idea.

But I personally use a ZT lunchbox which sounds ace.

You can just buy it as a cab, 6.5" speaker, yet somehow still sounds huge.

I've never played a Cube, but generally anything less than a ten inch speaker isn't going to sound very good. For a home practice amp you might get away with it, but otherwise it just won't cut it.

I'd also recommend a trolley of some sort...places such as Clas Ohlsen sell them for little more than £25 (there happened to be a branch of them near the shop where I bought my amp from). Get some straps or rope to lash the amp and/or cab to one of those and you're good to go. Seriously, I'm a weedy fellow too but I can cart a 1x12 valve combo around on one of those things with no trouble!

TT can run at 8 or 16ohms. My current cab is 8ohms.

Incorrect.
You can either plug 1x 16 ohm cab into the 16ohm out, or
2x 16 ohm cabs into the 2 8ohm outs, or
1x 8ohm cab into one of the 8ohm outs.

I wonder how many cabs SGJarrod has blown up?

straight into a PA and I'll report back with how good (or not) it sounds. That would be the most portable gig solution.
