Impedance Question!

I'm about to buy a late 60s Traynor YN 4x12. It says 8 OHMS.

My question: What does this mean the speakers could be if wired in series or paralell? 16 each? 4 each? 8 each?

And COULD I rewire it to 4 ohms.

Yeah it's fucking huge and I am probably not strong enough to lift it and I doubt it will fit in my Saab.

...but think of a silverface Bassman atop that beast.

Looks like there are two circuits in parallel, each with two speakers in. That means each speaker is 8 ohms. You could re-wire it for 2 ohms or 32 ohms but not 4 ohms if you want to use all 4 speakers.

Darn! Thanks for the info. I'll just use the Bassman with 8 OHMS.
