Do people rate these? I read that they are quite similar to the Boss OD3 but with more treble and to the SD1 but with less of a mid hump and more gain, sounds like they might be up my street but wondered what SS'ers views were. I know Adam Franklin uses them which is a pretty good endorsement.

I like them, decent low gain OD with a bit more on tap than a TS9 from what I remember.... also had fun using it for distorted vocals.

Great drive sounds marred by splatty decay. Also quite bright

I never took notice of them until i saw one of the old guitarists from The Fall use one live. He had a great garagey O/D sound combined with a Tele.

I actually A/B'd mine and yes, it's very similar to the OD-3...but as has already been said the decay is splatty and the breakup is very crisp and bright. There's none of the OD-3's compression either, so the end result is something that adds a nice gritty 'edge' to the sound without adding much sustain.
The BD is a decent, inexpensive dirt box for low to medium gain but there are better alternatives out there. I'm in two minds about selling mine since I use an OCD now.

Meh. I got one dirt cheap and did that Galaxie mod on it. The drive sounds nice, but the mod didn't cure the splats. Only cure I could come up with was to not stop playing.

I have one and used it, but more because of it being my only overdrive pedal rather than actually liking it. It always sounds a bit thin to my ears.
