I notice when i touch the control plate on my Duo Stang the background buzzing goes away. It's not a big buzz or some annoying sound like there's a shielding issue or anything. im thinking if i drilled a small hole from under the bridge into the control cavity and touched it on my bridge underneath that way when im touching the strings, it grounds like im touching the control plate... make sense? ive some ibanez guitars that do that. good idea? worth the trouble?

I don't know what kind of bridge you have. If you have a Mustang tremolo, then the ground wire is under the treble side of the bridge post thimble. If you have a Duo bridge, there should already be one there. All bridges are grounded, when you touch the strings you should notice a drop in noise. If it's not grounded, then do so or repair the problem.

its a tornado bridge and there isnt a spot for it really. I didn't think about it. I'm gonna drill a tiny hole from under the bridge to the cavity so i can run a small ground wire.

I like to use a treble E string as a ground wire. Shove the string down into a screw hole for the bridge then screw the whole thing down on top of it. Solder the other end of the string to a common ground in the control cavity.... shield.... or the back of a volume pot.... whatever
