Does anybody know what the Red Hot Chili Peppers were using equipment-wise to get that gutar tone on this song?

I get really close with my First Act guitar and my trusty little solid-state Crate amp on the distortion channel but still not there, I suspect there maybe a pedal in there? Is Sublime a pedal? I'll have to look that up on AOL.
So the Red Hot Chili Pepper put out an album called Sublime? Strange, can't find it anywhere using AOL, this damn dialup is pissing me off.

Really? This is confusing, because when I look up Sublime and Band in an interweb search, all that comes up is Sublime With Romeo? That just sounds like a bad mixed drink.

Brad Nowell...lead singer/ guitarist of Sublime died in the 90's...they now tour with a new lead singer named Romeo
Sublime had an album named 40oz to Freedom in the early to mid 90's
