Does anybody know what the Red Hot Chili Peppers were using equipment-wise to get that gutar tone on this song?

I get really close with my First Act guitar and my trusty little solid-state Crate amp on the distortion channel but still not there, I suspect there maybe a pedal in there? Is Sublime a pedal? I'll have to look that up on AOL.

Brad Nowell...lead singer/ guitarist of Sublime died in the 90's...they now tour with a new lead singer named Romeo
