NoHo was a very small company by 2 guys who used to be on this board. Decent build quality and designs, but customer service was (apparently) sketchy at best.

You may find the neck to be a bit different from what you're used to- they were made by rounding over a plank with no other shaping, so it may feel a bit "sterile" compared to your others.

Haha blast from the past. The eBay ad is running - you selling it already?

Plenty of info here:

Still got mine. Neck is a bit meh, one day I'll pick up another 24" scale Fender neck and slap it on.

Shad, didn't you visit the "factory" while up North in L.A.?

I remember Fredo taking some pics there, but my brain is telling me that Teh Peeps Champs made it there as well.

I imagine it consisted of a skeleton masturbating over animated gifs and some dude with a glazed expression in the corner absent-mindedly tooling a leather guitar strap, taking breaks to occasionally email apologies for his partners conduct to prospective customers.

NOHO! You've tried the best, now try the rest.

I always liked the Mercury design, and NoHo weren't the worst Shortscale.org luthiers by a long shot!

that day was epic!

Not many of those Mercs made at all, how'd you acquire this piece?

Thoms seemed decent to me, all the politics aside i have to admire the guitar was built with the intention of being an original design. Its all too easy to cross over old ideas like the Telemaster for instance.

Congratulations. It really looks great and you got the one with the P90s! Your axe may appreciate nicley if you're patient. And young.

How does it play? Sound?

Cheers,

I picked it up off of Craigslist from the original purchaser in Brooklyn. He said he custom ordered it from the builder, gigged it once or twice, but that it spent most of its life in a gig bag. It looks like it's brand new. I really just happen to get lucky with my compulsive Craigslist hunting.

Cheers,
Luckily, I'm young and patient. Unluckily, I'm broke.

I love the P90s on it, though, I am a sucker for those Lipsticks. When I picked it up, it needed a really minor neck adjustment, but other than that it was perfect. I've owned a few Mustangs in the past and this Mercury feels and plays just like one, but with a little bit thicker of a neck. The tone isn't as bright as a Mustang's, but it's certainly not muddy. A very typical P-90 in-between.
