Is it fabulous?

Never played a custom, but always fancied one. Sold a Std that I just didn't get on with (chunky neck)

Nice. Looks very similar to the Custom I had copied for the neck profile on my Baccus Les Paul.

Maple Neck!

I dig it. Profile looks similar to my beat up sonex, which is from the same year (same three piece maple neck too). It's very comfy, though a bit thick where it meets the body.

Thanks for the posts! I saw another 1981 Les Paul Custom(below left) at another store near where I live(Solidbody Guitar) that looks like mine except that one has a Protector case but it is priced but it is priced $1275.00 more than my guitar(mine was $1975.00).

It also appears to be a refret whereas yours isn't, or at least your refret is a lot nicer.
Great price you paid.

It's the same model and color but Lee's has the little "hook" on headstock like this one.

Thanks! It looks like The Les Paul Custom Frank Zappa played in the 80s except his had Dimarzios and gold hardware.

It reminded me of the Zappa les paul too, it just needs the crazy electronics.

At 12.12 shows off the guitar.

Cool,I thought about changing the pickups but I checked the ones in in it and they are the original Tim Shaw PAFs so I will leave it as is.

Frehley's original "Budokan" guitar they just reissued (which you owned a Greco copy of I think) started out identical, albeit from a few years earlier. The middle pickup was a facade made of bobbins and wasn't actually routed for.

What kind of knobs were on Ace's Les Paul Custom?

Thanks! Well...maybe I should just put the gold reflectors back on? I think they are older than the guitar.

Imagine taking a fresh, clean sheet of printer paper and running it quickly through the slit at the end of your penis. That papercut would be the best approximation of my reaction to that CHEESEBURST.
