for only 300 dollars more you can get a real honest to god 1965 1/2 jazzmaster with matching headstock for 300 dollars more.

I could scratch my head until my scalp bleeds and I still wouldn't understand the rationale behind this. Matching headstock? Very nice. The price?

Whut?

Good thing I got my AVRI Jaguar before the price bumps.

There are few things in life I understand less than the lure of a matching headstock. With a few notable exceptions (and with apologies to some of my shortscale chums) it looks worse.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the matching headstocks, either, but some people seem to like them.

That guitar has actually been on MF for a while now. Although, I have absolutely NO idea how it's any different from the AVRI, other than the matching headstock... besides the $1,900 price hike. Jeez. Oh wait, it's got the "New Old Stock treatment with respect for the original specs". Okay, that makes sense. :?

Unless it has a maple neck, I mostly like Fenders with a matching headstock.

The only exception I can think of is when the guitar is black with rosewood fretboard. Then a matching black headstock looks good.

But for all other colours, nah.

AVRI has artificial bone nut, not a real bone nut. That easily explains the price difference.

I used to be all about the matching headstock (and B+B) nowadays I think the plain headstock looks much better, and I prefer a plain neck (tho I'd love a D+B Jaguar...).

Love painted headstocks but did you see the listing has it as "Sonic Blue" with a lake placid blue picture haha?

That is like the same thing with this.. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ric-guitar
It's cool as fuck but I am sure we can all build one here for $3,300.00 cheaper haha.
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.

I was gonna post something like "well, that's a Custom Shop NOS version, not the same as AVRI", as you know they've sold NOS/relic type strats and teles for around 3Gs for a while now....

then I searched for American Vintage and found this

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ric-guitar

What the fuck? The standard AVRI Jag is now a '65 and $2400???

I don't understand Fender pricing. At all.

I think Fender are trying to make their MIM line the new US, and their US line the new Gibson.
