Modern Player Jagblaster

Post by Awstin »

So I have this Modern player Jaguar in sunburst laying around. I have all the parts except a neck and nobody is interested in buying it. It's a nice guitar but I just need a pickguard on it so this is what i am thinking..

I will just move the toggle down and put black tape over the old hole and then get a pearloid mustang guard made with a jazzmaster bottom and a more stretched mustang style control plate to hide the strat jack. Bam, a little routing and a custom guard and a hardtail Modern Player Jagblaster.

Looks very G & L that way. :) I like it with a guard better than without. :)

Thanks. I think it will be cool. I put a pearl mustang guard on it and it looked so good together.

I strongly advise against the tape stripe. There must be a better way to deal with the hole.

I'll buy chrome. Probably black realistically.

just leave a dummy switch in the old hole, add some mystery to it. When you move the dummy through it's positions say " What? you can't hear that !?" then talk about creamy thighs or whatever.

Sounds legit. If I can find a cool black arcade style momentary button in black I will definitely use it as a killswitch there.

needs more of a bronco style upper horn on the pickguard. or maybe just a bronco guard? would probably fit right around the A-O-M, and may require little trimming on the bottom 'orn.

Nah. Jags are a little bit longer. It's gotta be a custom guard.

That's what my Mullet-stang would have looked like in it's original state. I get really tired of Sunbursts because Fender does it so much, but it looks so good on a Mustang.

I still have it, but someone desecrated the front by a weird pickguard and it was refinished on the front in black by another forum member.

I bought it and finished it out.

I see that too. It has like the Jag version of G&L ASAT Special's Tele. All it needs is an angled bridge pickup. Kinda like this

Looks sweet. Happy ending on the back hehe. Ever think about refinishing the front to match the back?

Sorry about this but I don't wanna make another annoying post in the classifieds but it will be a while until I build this so if anybody wants to trade me something for the p90s that would be cool. I'm open to all ideas for this thing as well. Just trying to keep it as cheep as possible. (:
