Hot Rod Deville Vs. Vintage Traynor [EDIT]
Hey guys, I just found a Hot Rod Deville for 550 Canadian.
So now I am battling between these two...
5 year old Fender DeVille for $550
Or
1972 Traynor Guitar Mate that is 1x12 and 35w
I think I may go for the DeVille even though it is the boring choice, should I have any reservations?
The Classic 50 is gone... poo.

No 50w tube amp is gonna sound great at low volume. When u get them cooking is when the magic happens.
My first tube amp was a C30... it was meh at low volumes but was a solid decent amp with some volume. I never used the distortion chan ....just clean with a visual sound Jekyll & hyde. Then later on in our relationship we used a dirty little secret.

Okay, so the Classic 50 is out of the question, the trader bailed. Now I only have the vintage Traynor Guitar mate thats 25w, or go to some store and buy a new fookin' amp.
I know what I want, a Fender Twin/Deluxe Reverb... but they are too far out of my price range right now. I don't know how else to get that chimey-reverb tone. It seems so impossible!
I really want to get rid of my valve junior... not feeling it anymore.

I worked it down to 500 Canadian, that is essentially 500 American, and guitar gear is usually a bit more expensive here for some reason.mastermorya wrote:I forget the exchange rate, that seems like it could be a tad high. I see Devilles regularly at around $500 US.

I've had a HRD (deluxe not deville) for some time now and love it. reverb could be better (doesn't sound springy enough) but otherwise has great cleans and good breakup at high volumes. kinda wish I held out for a 410 deville though, and it never really satisfied my want for a twin or a deluxe reverb.
