Just wondered if it's possible to fit some 13s or so.. to a tele and be able to intonate it properly ?
Maybe even C to C.
Been playing the Blacktop Baritone at work, and it's giving me some new song ideas...
thanks

you could probably use 11s and have "standard tension" and such tuning down to C or even B.

Thanks, but I think they'd still feel a bit floppy with that gauge.

Yeah. They also make sets designed for tuning low.

I watched some dude on youtube a long time ago, and he just went and got himself a set of strings for a 7 string, but didnt use the top string. He just used the B to b strings.

These work really well for me. I've found that the biggest problem with using a low tuning is finding a balance between good action and good tension. I play 11-52 sets for standard tuning on a 25.5 scale and that's pretty much what I'm used to. The DDT's keep a good tension compared to some other strings. You could probably go up to the 11-54 set and still be playable in C standard. Using really thick strings will work just as well but strings that are super thick can mess with playability a bit.

Cheers, I went ahead and got some 13s and it worked really well and intonated pretty well.
I even recorded a song using this guitar. Aside from the solo and bass parts it's all B-B on this guitar. Sounds ace !!!
