I know this has been posted loads of times but I was just wondering where people stood now.

I'm looking to get myself a volume pedal, mainly to act as a global volume control after my overdrive but also to give me some swell action. I'm looking for something small and light enough to fit in my gig bag which is why I'm a bit iffy like the big ones like the Ernie Ball jr and Boss Fv-500.

First of all the Cheapo Bespeco ones. I did a show last week with a guitarist who was using one, he thought it did the job but was a bit shit. Does anyone else have any experience?

I really liked the look of the AMT Little Loudmouth, but then I heard it had issues with taper. There is also the DOD FX-17 but I have no idea what they're like, plus I'd kind of like a return policy.

What do you guys think?

It has minimum and maximum level controls, and the max goes above the original input signal so it can be set up to be used as a clean boost, too.

I've often thought of a volume pedal to play the moany Buckingham lines in Dreams and other similar effects.

Do any of these come with a spring mounted footrest so they reset back to normal/unity but maybe with the same volume pots as the one above? That's what I'd be after.

FWIW i have one i picked up off ebay for around 8 quid or summat daft. fully expected it to bust but about 8 months of gigging in and its still going pretty strong. its a volume/wah. the wah is god awful but volume is fine.

Try Boss GE7. Does the job well.

But you can change the volume with it to and equalise at the same time. That wins.

You don't know what you're talking about. Read the original post, he's after a volume pedal. It's like a wah pedal but it does volume instead.

The AMT looks like the best design ever... but this demo puts me off.

But mainly the problem is they are unobtainable pretty much in the US.

I've heard too many bad things about the AMT, apparently they are going to release a new one in a few months that should resolve the issue.

Also another option is the Behringer FCV100, I've heard good things about that and it's very cheap - especially secondhand - so maybe it's worth a go.

I've got a George Denis mono volume pedal, and I quite like it. The taper is really nice. It replaced a Bespeco volume pedal, but it's active rather than passive like the Bespeco.

Ernie Ball Jnr Volume pedal. Smoothest action going. Not cheap but certainly worth the money.

i had the dunlop high gain volume pedal for a while. think someone here brought it off me. basically a volume pot in a crybaby case. i had it for when i properly bummed steve hackett and was intent on recreating every detail of his setup and sound. i since grew up and went fuck it, i'll sound like me instead sounded pretty good, never really had an issue with it.

i've heard great things about that new dunlop volume pedal, but think it's a little spendy.

Yeah I really liked the look of the new Dunlop one, they're selling quite cheap secondhand too. They looks MASSIVE though but I think I'm just going to have to accept I'll need a bigger pedal if I want a good volume pedal.

Might just bite the bullet and save up for a Ernie ball vp jr.
