That's why I like it. Challenges preconceptions.
Also probably because Bigsby's suck.

I would agree with that too. They look cool, but I didn't like the one I had.

Brilliant. Love the birdseye. It looks like ostrich skin.

Paul Bigsby started building solid body electric guitars in the 40's but didn't patent the "Bigsby" vibrato until 1952.

Why would anyone make a bigsby guitar without a bigsby?

And WHY do Fender let this young upstart get away with that headstock?

About the headstock..Fender didn't own it. It's a R for Romero guitars. The only reason i know is because Mr. Romero's son,Ronnie, does all my work and owns a guitar shop here where i live. Leo asked him if he minded if he used the R headstock and Mr. Romero said not at all. The Romero's also did a guitar that looks just like a jaguar/jazzmaster before Fender did. I have some pics somewhere if anybody wants to see it. As a side note my friend Ronnie hates fenders. I'll bring my Les Paul in there and they love it but if i bring one of my fenders then it's like no big deal..Ha!
