found on craigs list a couple minutes ago. Should I be flying out the door, putting my coat on while I run down the road to this guys house?

I don't know too much about them but if you just want an opinion as soon as possible to help you decide, it's definitely worth more than $300 but it's not an incredibly valuable guitar. if I were to take a wild guess I'd say in it's current condition it might be worth $800?

I wouldn't know if it were real! We could start a thread on the ridiculous deals my friends have gotten on musical things on craigs list. I have a friend who bought over 100 vintage tubes in this old case that once belonged to a long ago shut down repair shop for old electronics. It was this big old ge case that folded out and was like a tackle box and it had a tube tester and everything. He pulled one tube out of the case and showed me the side of the little tube box it was in and when i read it i knew that he could sell one of those and get back a good bit more than the 50 bucks he spent on all of them. From 1 tube! Half of them were useless and the other half brand new and sought after. So, my point is you never know. It doesn't appear to be a huge investment either way. Good luck.

Yeah, I am thinking about this one, but I probably am in two deep with other projects. Could be an investment guitar to hang on to for a while. Get it playing and then see if something ever happens with it. If it was all there it might be worth $1400 in playing condition was my guess. But for all I know that is way off. I don't know about that type of market and usually go for cheap-o guitars that I can dick around with. it

Couldn't be, you see stock/close to it MMs for that much all the time on eBay, gutted ones for even less. Some guys charge more for them but those are guys who bought really clean/early/rare ones as investments and probably have large vintage collections, etc... stuff like this goes for cheap all the time.

so what would you say it's worth. $300 - $400 ?

The 68 case alone could get $300. I would have already had it home by now. But then again I don't like the snot burst paintjob they had.

And I am pretty compulsive. But who can feel bad about a 59 Gibson?

Well I just emailed the guy. Looking to do some horse trading for the thing.
