I sold my last strat a couple of years ago, but for the past few months I've been wanting to get another one.
Recently, I bought a second hand '84 MIJ 72 reissue, but returned it as it had a few issues and picked up a new G&L ASAT classic custom thinking it might fill the gap. I still wanted a strat though, so when of my local stores got a new shipment of 2012 standards in I had to try one.
I ended up walking out with this:

i still have my slut'o caster i'll never part with, but i do miss having a really nice strat. it's too bad we've gotten so spoiled on these things that they're considered boring and mundane. when i spend some time looking at and test driving one, it's genius in art.
nice pull, dude.

Black looks cool. It's like anti-ubiquitous.

I like that color scheme and I also like that thing they're doing with glossy fingerboard/satin neck thing.

That's a nice strat. I like the aged knobs and pickups.
I still have yet to find a strat I like. Maybe one day. I tend to like offsets because they are not typical and strats are the epitomy of typical. I am not dissing the strat, it's just not for me.

Black body, maple neck. Never had a strat any different. It's funny though, I've already sold one strat but ended up getting another. I know if I sell my current I'd probably just cave again.
Nice guitar.
