YAY! Finally got a compstang!

Post by Awstin »

I just bought this for $385.00 tonight! I think it is a good deal. It's a 93 reissue, some wear but little, small chip on upper horn and back lower butt. It also came with a nice Kramer Hardcase. It looks like the high E tuner is bent and it has a Duncan blade pickup in the bridge. Anyone know exactly what tuners would fit it? Throw me a link if you do please. And if anyone has a jb jr or a mustang bridge pup PM me! :) So happy!

Nice score. It's not a 1993 model by the way. These were released around 2002-2004.

Serial number is P082650 "crafted in Japan" so it's 1999-2002 (:

Soo anyone wanna throw me a link to where I can get a set of tuners that I could just drop right in and replace, prefect match, without extra work? Not sure because of the bushing size. Please and thank you. Much appreciated. (:

The seller is giving me a kluson tuner to replace the bent one but I still wanna get a new set anyway. They look pretty worn but the rest of the hardware is pretty pristine. It came out to be $410.00 all together with the shipping and that includes the guitar, Duncan rail pickup, a replacement tuner, and a nice Kramer hard case. Pretty good deal I think. Few dings on the side and 2 chips but nothing serious. Will those gfs ones definitely fit the bushings? How are they compared to fender ones? Anybody know what fender tuners would fit?

I don't understand why you would replace those tuners. They're original and people have been using the same tuners since the 50s. If they function fine, why bother spending more money and turning you're $400 jag into a $430 dollar jag?

Just to have matching tuners. Just remembered I have a brand new set of white button squier duosonic tuners. I might just use them. They would look cool with the white guard.

Yeah, just use those. I have some of those tuners, too. They work fine. If you didn't have them, I'd have offered to send them as a Christmas gift.

You can get Wilkinsons for cheap on eBay, do check. They also have the EZ Locking vintage style tuners, which help on some guitars.
