I just got this short scale Teisco from ebay. Im pretty excited, I see a lot of potential. Am thinking about turning it into a poorman's mustang bass. Or I could go with just a jazz bass route. I'm checking out http://dragonfireguitars.com/ to grab a few parts, new tuners, etc. Looking for a bridge, curious which way I should go with the pick ups, any suggestions?

Do you have the guitar in hand? If so make sure you measure string spacing and tuner spacing before you order parts. The teisco and a lot of older Japanese stuff have their own specs and some times off the shelf stuff is not the same.

The placement of that bridge pickup is exceptionally close to the bridge... should make for some interesting, unconventional bass tones.

That bass has loads of style, neck looks great. I'd do the minimum to sort it out. Very cool.
