Just came across an interesting video showing an Arion SAD-1 being run at 12V. I have an SAD 1 as my only delay and love it to bits. It uses BBD 'bucket brigade' tech if that's of any interest - all I know is BBD tech is used in the Moogerfooger....

I currently just have a Powerbank that does 9vs ....so this is kind of a two-pronged question: Specifically, what would be the neatest and cheapest solution for running this one pedal on 12v and the rest still on 9v. Generally, what other pedals benefit from higher voltage? What differences have you noticed?

He says the following:

No, it certainly does NOT harm the pedal, it SHOULD be getting 12v to sound its best as it was designed to be used with the old 80s style unregulated ACA adapters which by design supply more than the indicated 9v unless subjected to a load it can't handle, and the voltage was internally reduced to 9v in the pedal itself. Modern PSA 9v adapters are regulated and supply exactly 9v no matter how many pedals they are powering. If you search Google for "Adapter ACA PSA" you will find more info.

Interesting. I can certainly believe this will work for older pedals, which do indeed have a 12V DC in and require 12V going into the jack to work properly, such as the old Boss units (e.g. the CE-3 chorus I used to own). Looks like old Arions are the same.

I'd still exercise caution though: the circuitry itself still only needs 9V to run*, so if the pedal isn't one of those old 'uns, you could well fry it. I'd say that if the LED is at normal brightness with 9V running into the power socket it's not recommended.

*the 9V/12V idea sounds confusing, but this page explains it very well. Hope that helps!
