Old fender paint questions? Black fading to blue?

Hi guys.
Over the course of the last month I've been fixing up an old 81 Musicmaster I found. It's in the shop so no pictures yet but I have a question about the paint. It's a flat black right now but I'm worried. One of the people I used to work with used a Fender Lead which was originally black, but had faded to an ugly light blue from being in the sun too long. I was wondering if the same thing would happen to my musicmaster, and if there was a way to prevent it. Thanks in advance! :D

My Black 78 musicmaster is turning a blueish, dark navy grey. I know what you are talking about. I don't think it can be prevented though.. :( Let it age naturally. It is just more character.

drew - the last MM's in black had a weird color reaction like punkacc describes but if yours hasn't changed yet I think it won't.

You can google image search leads and 50% of them have FUCKED UPPPPP PAINT around the sides of them. Age did crazyness to them.

let it fade and look bad ass, or put it in a case and never play it.
