Belated NGD-1957 Musicmaster

A couple weeks ago I picked up a 1957 Musicmaster body, neck, neckplate, tuners, and pickguard. It was refinished red-ish, but it looked like a previous owner had started to sand down the refinish. I finished sanding/prepping and went with a color that reminds me of Gilmour's 0001 strat.

The tuners were in a sad state, so I pulled them for safekeeping and replaced them with kluson deluxes. Also picked up new Fender pots, jack & knobs, and I'm hunting down a bridge & pickup. (Any suggestions are gratefully accepted--for what it's worth, I'm not wedded to the idea of replacing with 50s parts right now. I may pick them up over time, but it might be fun to experiment with some different pickups while I have a convenient opportunity.)

While I wait for the paint to cure before the next round of sanding, I took a few shots to chronicle the process. Here they are:

That's going to look great when it's finished.

The bridges can be expensive (think I paid ~$100 for one a couple of years ago), but the squier classic vibe bridges have started turning up, which would probably work in a brand new and shiny kind of way.

You can sell tuners in any condition, or keep them unless you change your mind. I may have a bridge base with no saddles.
