First Build, Silicon Fuzz Face Clone
I'd recommend having a go at building one of these, even if you're a bit of a solderphobe...
The full kit cost me £17.99 + postage off evilbay..came with full-on instructions, and everything you need, including pre-drilled enclosure etc..
I was gob-smacked by how small the pre-cut veroboard was, and felt like a micro-surgeon assembling it!
Had one big problem after firing it up...it didnt bloody work ha ha!!, but figured as the 3PDT was bypassing when turned off, that it must be something daft..
Found out after checking with super-close eyesight, that i hadnt soldered one of the resistors properly...(twat!)...
After a quick re-solder, the noisy little bugger fired up and almost took my missus's hearing with it!
Very impressed!...
Just need to sort some designs out now...and thinking of calling it "The Beard"...
Sort-of build pics...

There's more length on the wires than John Holmes's Todger, but im gonna leave em like that so i have choice where to put the board down...
also will add a dc jack and led at some point...
cheers

Good work Monty.
I built a similar kit about 10 years ago, my wiring looked fucking dreadful. But the the bugger still works and sounds better than all the Fuzz pedals i've bought since.

Cheers Fran, looks like you got a 10 year head start pedal building on me then

I really want to built a Big Muff with a Bazz Fuss making up the gain stage.
That, or two Bazz Fusses in the same box.

No problemo!..I'm now waiting for a led, a resistor for the led, and a dc Jack from Dr Tweek so I can daisy chain it...
Then ill tackle the paintjob..
Anyone know if its worth adding a bias adjuster to trim the transistors or any other little tweeks to further its fuzzy pleasure??

Always put in a bias knob. Although, it would be more useful in a germanium FF, it would be pretty cool in a silicon FF.

Whisker Biscuit
I've never tried the bazzfuss/Big Muff combo, but two Bazz fuss's in the same box is rad. Fuzzy as all hell.
Also, nice build! It's always cool to see people picking up the hobby.

Ok, so i've been beavering away all day on this, and have new designs..ordered some sticky inkjet paper which came today,
and also re-drilled new holes and filled the others with chemical metal, as they were in the wrong place for me...
Filled, Sanded And Drilled......................Primed, Sprayed And Drying On Radiator

Came up with a Jimi Design as it's based on the Blue Fuzz Face Circuit..
But Then Thought Of This One!!..
So i've gone with The Desperate Dan FuzzFace...
Just waiting for the paint to cure, then ill apply the decal and give it a blast with some clear coat...

Yes. This is the thing I want to do.
I breadboarded this the other day, but with two bazz fusses where the two clipping stages would go.. Interesting results if in need of some refinement.

I require sound clips of this now. I'm already getting convoluted ideas of what I could jam into a Big Muff.
- Tone bypass to make it more like a regular Bazz Fuss
Switch to choose one or two Bazz Fuss gain stages
Switch for silicon, germanium, or no diodes (would it work? works for the Black Arts Pharoah)
Buffered clean blend
If I'm feeling crazy enough, maybe I'll put all of them in.
Someday.

I sold HNB a Whisker Biscuit a bit back. He did a nice demo.
As for the diodes, it will work, but it only has 1 diode.
