So my old homemade board was getting quite cramped with the introduction of the Fredrics Superfuzz a few months back. I also wanted to reintroduce an old friend.... The Sansamp GT2 which I sold on a few years ago... and recently regretted. This showed up this morning which meant I could complete my board.

Here's what I did....

I hunted out whatever scrap I had left from the garage from the remnants of the old board. Not too promising !!!



But there was enough....

Cut and pinned together... decided to give myself a bit of extra room, incase of any future changes... but still small enough to fit into my soft case I have already...



Needs sanding and neatening up of the edges ...



Try it for size...



One coat on... and little bit of filling and sanding again...



In hindsight I forgot to use glue when pinning, so decided to reinforce the cross braces with screws from underneath....



Done, and mostly assembled... and chainlinked to the board. Just gotta wait to win the sansamp on ebay and I piece it all together properly.



2 unsuccessful auctions later.... I win one and convince him to send it next day delivery... it arrived today. Walla...



Added some rubber feat to get and better angle and to prevent slipping... will clean up the cabling better in due course.



Power supply nicely accessed at the rear...



Done and done....

It's a cheeky request, but I don't suppose you have any of those pedal attachments spare? I need some for one of mine that I'm not too keen on covering with velcro! I've been on the JSF website but he's in the process of moving across to a new host so everything is down at the moment. That's the only place I've seen em' for sale...

I'd be willing to pay for them like!

They are actually real bicycle chain links !! I used to build& restore bikes and have quite a few chains spare, and I have chain splitter !!!

I need to get 2 more myself for the sansamp, you want them quickly ? How many do you need ?

It's a nice design you've got going there too. Mine is quite similar but I have all my wires enclosed in underneath. It keeps everthing tucked in but it's a bit of a ballache if I ever have to change any cables round. I like yours though, it looks very tidy!

I did think that's what they were. Unfortunately I don't have a chain splitter, otherwise I would of done the same thing!

Aye, it looked much tidier if I didn't have to use a second Diago daisy, there's about 4 unneeded connections. How have you hidden them ?

I have a base on the bottom of the board. It's just a thin'ish piece of ply with a few screws to keep it all secure. I also made a lid so that the whole board is enclosed. I have some photos of it on the gear thread. I'll try and dig them out!

It's also got the Diago tucked under the board with a little latch that opens up to reveal the power point where you plug it in.

Cheers. I'm considering making a new one. I have a few pedals that I don't currently have on that I miss a bit. I have zero space left on it now, though.

I want a new handle as well. I posted asking about the one's that the Spider pedal boards come with but had no response!

Do people not put the Sansamp last in the chain to act like an amplifier channel or am I missing the point?

Hmm, I just use it as an effects pedal ala Kurtz. Not intending to go direct or anything, or record with it. Just going into the front of the amp.

It does the Nirvana thing great... that's why I wanted it back. The california setting is good but the other tweed / british are pretty meh... the OCD does that much better.

Or do you still suggest moving it ?

The patch cables are Planets Waves Solderless patch kit... they're great !! No issues at all !!
