I picked up one used for $50 and am going to give it a try. What I am hoping to do is switch between effect lines to two different amps. (One clean amp with my clean effects, and one dirty amp with my distortion and fuzz.)

Once it arrives I will play around with it and let you all know how it works.

It's a great tool! I have one and I love it. I have two different loops going to one amp but you can just use the output select to go out to two different effects chains to two amps.

I like that you can easily change the level of the independent loops quickly. It's great for gigs in that respect

I have 2 on my board. One switches between 2 distortion loops and the other switches my modulation pedals on or off. Yhey're great pedals with a multitude of uses.

Cool! I watched some youtube demos and I think it should work out well. Excited to play with it.

Another cool thing about the LS-2 is you can pass a daisy through it for your other center-negative 9v pedals with use of a chain cable, just like that old red Power Supply compact they made. It's definitely not an optimal "power supply" solution (neither was the standalone "Power Supply" pedal fwiw), but for people into dual signal paths and stuff it can quickly become the heart of your board: power, selector, mute, etc...

I was looking at the LS-2 manual the other day when researching these. I invite you to also check it out, as it offers some functionality well beyond simple A/B loop switching. I feel foolish to have gone this long in life without owning one.

I think you can also use it to blend the two loops together, for example you can blend the sound of your modulation pedals with your clean sound to make them more subtle.

That's how I use mine, blending my Fuzz Probe and MBM Dream Box to perfection.

Aaaaaahhhhh now the penny's dropped. I always wondered what the A+B function would be used for. Pretty nifty

Man, if I get in another band I definately have to get one of these to utiize my rackmount reverbs instead of my current setup of an A/B box going into the other channel of my amp.

I only use mine to switch between amps but I've used it to blend a distortion with a clean signal when recording bass in the past. I've not tried it with loops of other boxes, but I've seen a lot of people use one that way with fantastic results. It's just as a shame that there's a bit of background hum in the "A/B switch" application.

The 'level' controls of the loops go higher than unity gain as well - I can't recall the exact amount, but you can definitely get a clean volume jump with these things. One of the guys from MONO had an LS-2 set up as a clean boost at one point.

They're really useful boxes and I recommend everyone should have one stashed away, just in case.
